Local Area Connection, Sent, Received

In search of good candidate

Today was published the list of lists and candidates who end up on the board of the municipal elections on 28 and 29 March. As usual, many names and many different reasons: some heavier, more dissonant, others just occasionally.
"It 's democracy, beauty!" - I say immediately smarter. It is, but how to extricate, how to cope with?
Two approaches immediately come to mind.
The first is the fan that chooses without hesitation and that, as would my friend Emilia, is not afraid to put "the brain in neutral" and do everything possible for his team (his party) won, costs no matter what.
The second, far more skeptical, is that as you look at this mess and effort to truly accept it.
I, I admit, I'm more interested in the second group. For two reasons: first, trivial, is not a fan (not even a football team), the second is that I really put myself in the shoes of a voter who comes down on the planet "Venice" and trying to figure it out.
The starting point, unfortunately, is not encouraging: it is extremely difficult to make sense of it.
then try to pick up some tools that can serve us in the perilous navigation election.
how to read and choose from the candidates?
with platitudes, I'd say using a little 'bit of intelligence and a' passion. But on this level and everyone will find different answers different choices. And everyone will have their arguments: the me that is more sympathetic or at other times is certainly more competent and capable.
Instead, what we should first find all agree is that dishonesty and individualism are two greater evils of democracy. Two wrongs that make democracy ugly, vulgar, arruffona and disastrous for the community that the practice or simply the host.
We, however - poor Candide! -, We persist in believing that democracy must be beautiful, so complicated, so difficult, therefore, necessary.

policy I'm passionate about, we'll never know but probably not enough to change it.
For this reason, as stated in one of the characters of literature that has accompanied me since childhood, Mr. Cipollone, a father of Onion, released Rodari happily from the pen of John, I will say: "Son, go for the world and studying. Study the robbers who lie on this road. " If this lesson has a moral sense, then the first thing I suggest to all of us, is to put aside, as if they were damaged goods, too many "bandits" that we will find on our ballot.
Without sorting, and will - alas - abundant, we see what remains.
remain - sorry if I cut with a hatchet - three classes of people: those who are always the winner (so-called opportunistic), and those who are always against (so-called apocalyptic) and those who seek to understand something of what can be done.
recommend to discard the first two categories of human and focus with determination on the third. I say this because, at this point, we have a long way to go.
say that this third list of people we can bring at least two human types: those who pull a living, knowing that men are neither good nor bad, and those who dream of changing the world, and delude themselves that men are more good and bad.
The former are also the most intelligent, the latter, certainly not, but this is what I love most.
Personally I love them because they dream against the evidence, why not surrender in front of the human misery, because are naive when all are smart and are awake when everyone is asleep.
course, are the minority and the minority who are almost always loses. But who knows, "have a dream" is what makes the future possible policy and something beautiful.
A search and search, there's little doubt in the patchwork of voter lists and among candidates. But if the selection will remain difficult even just one, one only, in my opinion will be worth it.
And for the local community, democracy once again will represent the best hope.
